Portfolio Committee on Department of Trade, Industry and Competition to conduct oversight visit in Richards Bay Industrial Development Zone (RBIDZ)
The RBIDZ and the Department of Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs invite members of the media to an oversight visit that will be conducted by the Portfolio Committee on Department of Trade, Industry and Competition (the DTIC).
The purpose of the visit is for the Committee to assess the progress attained by RBIDZ in promoting economic growth and development in the region. The Committee will engage with the MEC for EDTEA, Rev. Musa Zondi who is the Executive Authority for the entity, RBIDZ Board, CEO and Executive Management of the RBIDZ to gain a deeper understanding of the Zone’s impact on the regional economy.
The key focus will be on assessing areas of investment attraction and job creation as well as evaluation of infrastructure development.
